Green Central Station

Planned development of an unused railway station area into a green space that links mobility and neighbourhoods.

Urban design of the surroundings of the northern main railway station, which will significantly shape the future urban structure in the City and Nordstadt areas. Currently, unused spaces are given a use as desired by Dortmund residents. They were, therefore, able to submit their own ideas via a website with a digital planning tool – and thus help develop the neighbourhood. Large derelict areas of the railway station site are being transformed into an open space in an urban context, among other things. One of the greenest railway stations in Germany is being created by incorporating the ideas and wishes of the people of Dortmund.
