Development of the harbour quarter

Opening up urban planning and developing a digital-creative quarter with new living, working and leisure qualities for Dortmund and improving the ecological scorecard, as well as increasing biodiversity.

With the development of the northern and southern "Speicherstrasse" of Dortmund’s harbour and the associated opening up of the harbour quarter in terms of urban development, the classic harbour is being expanded to include urban uses.

In a lively quarter with an independent character, new working and leisure qualities are being created for the entire city. In addition, the port holds enormous development potential for up to 5,000 new jobs. Various projects will bridge the gap to the city’s Nordstadt region and thus integrate the neighbouring district into the development.
