Enabling realistic experiments and modular testing possibilities with robots and drones in the centre's own Living Lab.
The German Rescue Robotics Centre (Deutsches Rettungsrobotik-Zentrum e.V.) is the leading civilian competence centre for the research and development of mobile robot systems for emergency response. The establishment and continuous development of the association, which was founded in 2018, is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
At its heart, and in addition to a broad network, is the so-called Living Lab. Users, scientists and industry work there under one roof. The Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art communication and measurement technology, as well as a unique research and test facility for robotic systems in Europe. Modular testing facilities are created on 1,300 m2. The spacious outdoor area with 1,500 m² of fallow land can be used for scenario-based experiments.
